BlueSkyThinking

where have i gone?

i think that i have put quite a lot of myself into this blog, its quite strange for me.

i think im probably very introverted usually.
ohhdear,im not sure what the point of this was..

im going to attempt to write some poetry,a line appeared in my head.

i will leave you with some pictures of randomthings :)

I am going to a barbeque this weekend :)
I feel so spring-y

Today was, my friends & i decided, the nicest day this year. We sat outside every spare moment we had, & we lay on (slightly damp) grass. I arranged my friends long hair all around her hair so she looked like the sun, & placed a generous helping of daisies in her hair for good measure.

i love being a girl & being girly so often.

i went to an Edinburgh Uni day & discovered that i will be in lectures with 350 other people. hence, 349 other people to make friends with =)

perhaps i should do an outfit post? i love blogs with outfit posts. although, i fear my outfits are very susceptible to hoodie&jean comfortableness. infact, i spend a great deal of my weekend in my christmassy pyjamas (no time of year is unsuitable for some christmas cheer).

hopehope you are well & excellent.

lazylinepainterjane

i have prelims this week :(
&,although i only have two (yea, i am being incredibly lazy this year, & my other subject had its prelim a month or two ago.) buutt they are both on the friday, which is pretty rubbish.
a lot of people seemed to be off today, so i observed a friend rejoice that they are now 18 & able to buy plastic cutlery from tescoes. & rejoiced alongside them. i shall be 18 in..4months.
so, this is a terribly boring post, because i think i should probably return to revising the economic policies of China, voting behaviour & influences, the social & economic progress of ethnic minorities in USA, as well as some other modern studies stuff. plus, all of geography. geography is very vast.

you're my picture on the wall,
you're my vision in the hall,
you're the one i'm talking to
when i get in from my work
you are my girl, & you don't even know it
i am living out the life of a poet
i am the jester in the ancient court
you're the funny little frog in my throat
i had a conversation with you at night
it's a little one sided but that's alright
i tell you in the kitchen about my day
you sit on my bed in the dark changing places
with the ghost that was there before you came
you've come to save my life again
i don't dare to touch your hand,
i don't dare to think of you
in a physical way
and i don't know how you smell

youth is wasted on the young

today my dad is 50 years old.
He is very happy, & hope everyone is too.
i spent most of last night reading the love letters of other people.
both sad, & completely wonderful.
realising how we are forever ageing (both in physical obvious terms, but also we will age in the memories of people once we are gone, isnt that sad?) made me want to stay at home all day & watch childrens films. i think i might just do that.

i kept loads of old videos, the ones that were reeally special.

you're worth the trouble & you're worth the pain,

you're worth the worry i would do the same,

if we all we back to another time,

i would love you over

may1968

i started advanced higher french & i had to research the may 1968 riots, & while doing so, came across all these amazing pictures of grafitti & slogans used at the time

(be young & shut up - silhouette of charles de gaulle in the background)

(down with the infernal cadence)

(no to bureaucracy)

(we are the power)

(return to normal)

(we are all 'indesireables')

the written word

i really love photos of graffiti or things written down, i collect them on my precious pretty usb :)

i got lost in a book for almost the whole weekend. 'the beach' by alex garland, i'd been meaning to read it for ages & stumbled across it one lonely free period in the library. i really liked it, i loved the whole utopic idea, although... i don't know, i didn't expect it to end that way. i expected it to go on a little, detailing the difficulty the character had readjusting? ohh well, wonderful all the same (& slightly haunting, i read the final scenes on the island before going to bed & i didn't sleep particularly well).

at edinburgh i have to take three subjects in my first year, & so far all i've got is politics. I thought id take scandinavian studies, just for something different. although i don't know how il be tied to it incase i don't like it very much? apparently scandinavian languages are quite like german ive been told? i was quite rubbish at german.

hope everyones having a really nice wednesday :)

the school magazine is nearly finished!woop
